On 13 September 2022 IOFS delegation led by H.E Prof. Yerlan A. Baidaulet Director General of the organization reached the capital of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The first day of the visit started with very productive meeting at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre. H.E. Abdullah Al Rabeeah Supervisor General of the Center received H.E IOFS Director General.
In his turn, Director General highly praised the efforts and projects that implementing KS Relief Center in 86 countries around the world. Main areas of further bilateral cooperation were identified in field of humanitarian food aid for Afghani people and food security projects within the framework of Year of Africa.
The second meeting conducted between IOFS and Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO). H.E Eng. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Fares the Governor of SAGO warmly welcomed the IOFS delegation and emphasized great opportunities and trade potential for Central Asia and GCC food markets.
Furthermore, IOFS Director General had a meeting with the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary, H.E. Dr. Nayef Falah M. Al-Hajraf that was proceeded with signing of the Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between two institutions. Parties continued discussion on strengthening cooperation in the area of proposed programs within the framework of the 10-years strategy
The work related to trade and investment promotion in agriculture and food industries further was discussed with H.E Eng. Tariq Mohammed Al-Haidary, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Parties agreed on arranging technical workshop and start to collaborate on several areas within the IOFS Vision 2031. It should be marked that H.E Eng. Tariq Mohammed on behalf of the Saudi Federation of Chambers has agreed to enter IFPA as Honorary Member.
