On August 4, 2022, a meeting of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) with National Agrarian Science Educational Center (NASEC) was held at the NASEC premises. The IOFS was represented by Dr. Ismail Abdelhamid, IOFS Director of Programmes and Projects Office, Mr. Azamat Khamiyev, IOFS Programme Manager, and Ms. Raushan Kumekbayeva, IOFS Manager Coordinator.
The meeting was hosted by Darkhan Balpanov, Chairman of the Board of NASEC.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation on further implementation of joint projects and activities within updated joint Action Plan for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between NASEC and IOFS. It was suggested to include program activities on OIC Strategic commodities, both in general and specifically for wheat, Development of Gene Banks, Livestock ecosystem, Water Management, as well as Seed production.
Following the discussion, the parties decided to swiftly sign the Action Plan and start its immediate implementation.
