IOFS BILATERAL MEETINGS HAVE STARTED IN CONAKRY, GUINEA

Immediately upon the arrival to Conakry, the Republic of Guinea, on May 18, 2022, H.E.Prof. Yerlan A. Baidaulet, Director General of IOFS, was received at the premises of the Ministry by Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, African Integration and Guineans Abroad, H.E.Dr. Morissanda Kouyate.

Considering that the IOFS Statute has been signed in Conakry by 13 member states in December 2013 during 40th session of OIC CFM, IOFS Director General during the meeting highlighted the particular symbolic significance of the current IOFS visit.

H.E. Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet also emphasized IOFS crucial role in providing feasible support to the Guinea Government in strengthening food security and improving agricultural and rural development, especially through capacity building and technology transfer. Officials also reviewed the current state of global food security, particularly in Islamic world and common areas of interest to resolve existing challenges.

By the end of the meeting H.E Director General and H.E. the Minister gave an interview to the national public broadcaster “RTG” channel (Radio Télévision Guinéenne) and provided a brief on the outcomes of bilateral meeting  and purpose of IOFS delegation visit to the Republic of Guinea.
