GCC not at risk of food insecurity but inflation as Ukraine crisis disrupts supply

An article written by author Mona Alami for Arab News, an English-language daily newspaper published in Saudi Arabia discussed about consequences of Ukraine crisis on food security.  
 
Author is reviewing about significant disruptions on food supply chain caused by Russia – Ukraine tension that accordingly brings to the food insecurity, high level of inflation, particularly in countries that heavily rely on energy imports.
Author refers to the latest UN FAO report that specified Russia and Ukraine among major exporters of wheat, maize and sunflower oil, among others Russia also ranked one of the top exporters of fertilizer, which poses critical importance for agricultural sector.  All these economic rupture along with transportation cost spike will lead to food security disruptions in the Arab region included author.
