On 14 April 2022, a technical virtual meeting was held between the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and the GCC-Stat, represented by Mr. Ahmed Al Farid, Mr. Haitham Albusaidi, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Jahdhami to exchange views on database concerning food security of OIC member states. The IOFS was represented by Dr. Ismail Abdelhamid, IOFS Director of Programmes and Projects Office, Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutualo, IOFS Senior Liaison Officer, along with Mr. Abu Husain Mohammad Kamruzzaman, IOFS Program Manager.
After all necessary deliberations, the meeting agreed that both parties will collaborate with each other to select appropriate indicator related to food security and share technical cooperation. They also discussed the role of National Statistical Offices and other divisions of agricultural data sources to share their data to analyze it by the expert team members of IOFS and GCC-Stat.
