Meetings with the new Ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan
16 November 2021

On November 16, 2021, the IOFS General Director Yerlan A. Baidaulet met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Agalar R. Atamoglanov, at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

H.E.Mr. Baidaulet congratulated H.E.Mr. Atamoglanov on his appointment to such an important and responsible position and expressed hope for the establishment of strong and fruitful cooperation.

The Director General presented the Organization's structure, Strategy, and Programs execution progress. Despite the pandemic restrictions, the Organization hosted over 40 events this year, including with the participation of scientists and specialized experts from Azerbaijan..

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the full explanation of the Organization's mission and active efforts, emphasizing the relevance and importance of the responsibilities allocated to it.

Azerbaijan's agricultural policy is now geared toward the restoration of de-occupied lands. The Government intends to sow crops, create gardens, and construct sophisticated livestock complexes on the liberated areas of the Karabakh and the East Zangezur economic regions. Logistics will be constructed in order to develop economic potential; an airport was built in Fizuli, and another is planned for the Zangilan region. Azerbaijan is actively seeking investors to help restore and develop the fertile and prospective Karabakh territories.

In this case, cooperation with IOFS allows for the attraction of both Islamic investments and scientific and practical resources. The parties reaffirmed their adherence to the principles of Islamic solidarity, noted the importance of enhancing mechanisms of mutual assistance and interaction. Ambassador Atamoglanov used the example of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, an Azerbaijani entrepreneur and philanthropist who delivered more than 300,000 ampoules of vaccines against the fatal plague sickness to Pakistan at his own expense at the turn of the twentieth century. This aspect contributed significantly to Pakistan's victory against the disease.

Following the meeting, H.E.Mr. Atamoglanov stated his willingness to assist in obtaining a positive solution to the issue of Azerbaijan's accession to the Organization as soon as possible.

On the same day, the IOFS General Director Mr.Yerlan Baidaulet met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Dastan S. Dyushekeyev. The dialogue began with congratulations to His Excellency the Ambassador on his appointment to a high position to strengthen friendly relations between the fraternal Republics of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the IOFS, the establishment of bilateral partnerships, and the opportunities for multilateral collaboration with all IOFS member countries and partners.

This year has been particularly eventful for Kyrgyzstan, according to the Ambassador, with a referendum and the adoption of a new Constitution, as well as presidential and parliamentary elections. Internal stability and development, assistance from neighbors, strengthening of foreign links, and participation in international activities are all crucial now for the Republic.

The General Director spoke about the outcomes of his working visit to Bishkek in June 2021, the agreements reached and relationships established with leading players in the field of food production, such as the AgroLid holding and the Association of Sheep Breeders of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the Organization's upcoming events, inviting Kyrgyz experts to the IOFS:
