The Director-General of IOFS conducts a working visit to the State of Qatar

On Monday 12 July, the Director-General of IOFS H. E. Yerlan Baidaulet held several working meetings in the State of Qatar. He was accompanied by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar, H.E. Arman Isagaliyev, the Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University Mr Tlektes Yespolov, and Mr Safwan Alsaaideh, the IOFS Financial Manager.

On the first day of his visit to Doha, Mr Baidaulet met with H.E. Dr Ahmad Hassan Al Hamadi, Secretary-General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the meeting, the Director-General provided an overview of the key IOFS programs where the State of Qatar could play a strategic role, particularly, in humanitarian programs.
Furthermore, the parties focused on strengthening the effective role played by the State of Qatar in the IOFS strategy. From his side, the Secretary-General expressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' support for all the proposals discussed and agreed to continue bilateral consultations.

Thereafter, His Excellency Dr Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Qatar's Minister of Municipality and Environment, welcomed Mr Baidaulet in his office. The meeting started with emphasizing the importance of the State of Qatar as a valuable full-fledged Member State and providing an overview on the establishment of IOFS, structure, strategic programs, and the IOFS Humanitarian Profile. Dr Abdulla Al Subaie expressed the State of Qatar’s willingness to cooperate actively within IOFS programs and paid particular attention to the Development of National Gene Banks, National Food Sectors Development in cooperation with state investment agencies, Food Safety and Halal Food Development, and humanitarian programs.

The same day H.E. Mr Yerlan Baidaulet held a meeting with Mr Ali Abdulla Al-Dabbagh, Deputy Director-General for Planning of Qatar Fund for Development, to discuss areas of cooperation between IOFS and Qatar Fund, as per the new 10-year strategy to be approved on the 4th General Assembly.
