On 11 September 2022, a delegation of Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) led by HE Prof. Yerlan A. Baidaulet, Director General paid a visit to the headquarters of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
High level meetings at the OIC premises started with H.E Hissein Brahim Taha who warmly received the IOFS Director General and expressed his full satisfaction on IOFS effective activity in the field of food security within OIC geography.
H.E Prof. Yerlan A. Baidaulet expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and briefly presented about IOFS achievements since April this year. At the end of the meeting IOFS Director General conveyed an invitation to the Head of OIC Family for the 5th IOFS General Assembly on October 10-11 in Tunis.
The visit to the OIC headquarters continued with a bilateral meeting with HE Prof. Ahmad Sengendo, OIC Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs and a group of Islamic Development Bank representatives. Parties discussed the prospect of strengthening cooperation with the OIC Economic Department, particularly in the context of implementation of IOFS 2022 Year of Africa initiative.
Furthermore, IOFS Director General held a meeting with OIC Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian, Culture & Social Affairs, H.E Ambassador Tarik Bakheet and OIC Assistant Secretary General for Science & Technology, H.E Ambassador Askar Mussinov. Meetings of IOFS delegation with OIC management were very fruitful where parties expressed willingness to develop further cooperation to support an implementation of IOFS Strategic Framework.
