IOFS HAS CONCLUDED FOUR DAY WORKSHOP IN JORDAN, AMMAN

On August 4, 2022 IOFS four day workshop organized within the framework of OIC Healthy Food and Food Safety program and embraced representatives of MENA countries was finalized.

Participants of the workshop discussed issues on different approaches of food quality control as well as requirements in different stages of value chains locally and on the international level.

Other highlights of the event were about the role of advanced technologies in facilitating the process of identification of food origin. This aspect relates to the IOFS main approach of “from gene to fork” that emphasizes food Safety and quality assurance audit by using blockchain technology specifically applied by Jordan Olive Oil Producers syndicate, as well as issues of lab shopping and testing authenticity system.




While concluding the workshop, participants provided country presentations that based on the information obtained during the event and considering current situation in the country including updated requirements and approaches to food quality control.   

IOFS Director general HE Yerlan Baidaulet delivered the certificates of the participation to all attendees of the workshop and during the concluding speech emphasized the importance of such events in discussion urgent issues of food safety and its role in ensuring food security in the region, especially in the period of volatility and instability.

It is worth to mention that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is witnessing the first event organized within IOFS strategic program.
