Concluding Day of the IOFS Visit to the Republic of Guinea

At the end of his official visit to the Republic of Guinea, H.E. Prof. Yerlan A. Baidaulet, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), accompanied by Mr. Sofian Ben Mouaddeb, Senior Country Manager, had a meeting with Mrs. Howa Sylla Diallo, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Director of the Institute of Agronomic Research of Guinea. H.E DG started the meeting by giving a brief overview on the main programs and activities of IOFS, in particular the two global programs the AFPS and the Year of Africa, to this end, the Head of IOFS expressed the willingness of his institution to strengthen the capacity building of the specialists of the Ministry and provide the necessary assistance to support its programs and its agricultural and scientific policies as per the National Food Security Strategy, in addition he informed hosts about the various programs of IFPA, as a subsidiary of the IOFS, in terms of the development of trade and investment between the OIC member countries, in order to further strengthen  the self-sufficiency of the Guinea in agriculture products and food.



Before closing his mission in Guinea, H.E. Yerlan Baidaulet was received by Ambassador Laho BANGOURA, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry for a wrap-up meeting, during which clearly highlighted the importance of the great economic potential possessed by Guinea, as well as the axes of cooperation that were identified during his various meetings with high officials of the Republic of Guinea, particularly in terms of capacity building in the field of food security, as well as supporting the sector of agriculture, the sustainable development, the governance, and resource mobilization. through the streamlined programs of IOFS included in the Vision 2031 Strategy. Also he stressed the full support of the IOFS to improve the investments in these different sectors with regard to the agricultural potential of the country. from his side Mr. General Secretary of the Ministry, emphasized the availability of the diplomatic corps to mobilize the required efforts, for the implementation of the recommendations and identification of joint areas of bilateral cooperation in the interest of Guineans.
