NASEC AND IOFS JOINT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HAS STARTED IN DUBAI

On February 21, 2022 an international conference called "Prospects for the development of food security of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asia" has launched in Dubai, UAE. The hybrid format event was jointly organized by JSC National Agrarian Science Educational Center (NASEC) and Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS).



The conference was started with keynote remarks by the Chairman of the Board of "National agrarian science and educational center" NJSC, H.E. Dr. Issayeva G.S; President of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, H.E Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrooei; Chairman of the Board of "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" JSC NC, H.E. Mr. Aidyn Aimbetov; IOFS Director General, H.E. Prof. Yerlan Baidaulet.

Participants presented their activities and discussed current issues on overcoming the food security problems including hunger and malnutrition through developing and implementing the national and subnational regulatory frameworks on food and nutrition security, as well as to promote an effective and efficient relationship between the states to carry out activities aiming to ensure food and nutrition security, sustainable agricultural development.



The parties agreed to continue their mutual discussions and cooperation to define the framework for future cooperation through signing series of Memorandums of Understanding that were concluded between NASEC and Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development; IOFS and Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development; NASEC and "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" JSC NC; IOFS and "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" JSC NC, IOFS and the International Climate Change Center.

The major thrust of the agreements is to promote mutually beneficial cooperation to establish frameworks of partnership and understanding between bodies for the furtherance of their respective mandates in areas of developing strategic commodities, climate change and measures for the sustainable development of crop and feed production, using space technologies in agriculture sphere.
