The Minister for National Food Security and Research of Pakistan Mr Syed Fakhar Imam announced that Pakistan provided emergency humanitarian assistance worth 8$ billion to its underprivileged parts of the population. This was achieved through Ehsaas Programme which utilized digital technologies and data. In Pakistan, malnourishment is a major public health issue that stagnates the economic and social development of the country. The government developed a few initiatives to fight malnutrition, hunger and poverty; those include investments in the green economy and infrastructure. Pakistan also plans to focus on capacity building of farmers and increasing access to and availability of high-value crops.
