On 26 August 2019, General Director of Islamic Organization for Food Security, Yerlan Baidaulet held a number of bilateral meetings at the Head Office of OIC in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia within the framework of the Second General Assembly.
During the meeting with Deputy Secretary of OIC for Science and Technology, Askar Musinov, sides discussed a number of issues related to the need of stimulation of coordination between IOFS and OIC Department of Science and Technology, realisation of S&T Agenda 2026 and organization of an international scientific seminar in Nur-Sultan city.
Deputy General Secretary of OIC, Musa Kulaklikaya discussed possibility of collaboration with Turkish structures of OIC, such as SESRIC and SMIIC, while Mr. Tareg Ali Bakheet elaborated on humanitarian issues and IOFS projects.
Taking into consideration the importance of OIC Strategy on development of science and technology, which implies close interaction with IOFS regarding issues of food security, unification of Halal standards and their implementation in food industry, sides proposed a number of measures aimed to enhance cooperation in those fields. Senior officials of OIC demonstrated wish for close collaboration with IOFS regarding a wide range of problems and mutual interests.
