On 22ndof August in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Berik Aryn had met the Chief Executive of SALIC (Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investments Company) Matthew Jansen and discussed possibility of cooperation between SALIC and Kazakhstan. The Ambassador spoke of agriculture and agribusiness industries of Kazakhstan in detail, as well as of measurements taken by the government to develop those areas. He informed about favorable conditions created for foreign investors, such as benefits and preferences, legislation and institutions that protect the investors’ rights and investments. The Ambassador passed a number of agricultural investment projects to the company for further consideration.

Mr. Berik also briefed SALIC on activities of Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), whose establishments were initiated by Elbasy – First President of Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The Chief Executive of SALIC, Matthew Jensen expressed interest of the company in mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan. Both parties reached agreement upon necessity of delegation visit to Kazakhstan for further study of current investment opportunities.

SALIC was created by Public Investments Fund (PIF) with the goal of providing food security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. SALIC invests in foreign countries with favorable conditions for crop and livestock growth. The resulting product is imported to Saudi Arabia. Today SALIC implements a number of investment projects in Canada, Australia, Ukraine, Europe and many other countries.
