ICCIA supports the IOFS initiative and encourages its members/partners to follow their lead in the implementation of the Memorandum on «Addressing Food Security Crisis in the Wake of COVID19 Pandemic».

This Memorandum, prepared and presented by the IOFS, contains various strategic actions aimed at mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the state of food security in the OIC member states.

The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) urges its esteemed members to take all measures to combat the possible adverse effects of the global pandemic on food systems in their respective OIC member countries.

Moreover, the Secretariat of ICCIA, in view of the foregoing, asks the following: "the Honorable Members are requested to kindly distribute the above information together with the mentioned Memorandum among its members, especially among those working in the food and agricultural sectors, and publish them on their websites and any other promotional materials in their respective countries".

For reference: ICCIA is an affiliated institution of OIC that represents the private sector of 57 Islamic Member Countries. It aims to strengthen collaboration in trade, commerce, information technology, insurance/reinsurance, shipping, and banking, to promote investment opportunities and joint ventures in the Member countries. Its membership is comprised of National Chambers / Unions / Federations of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the member countries.
