Strengthening cooperation between the IOFS and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania

During a meeting in September 2022 in Cairo, Egypt, the Director General of IOFS Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet and the Commissioner for Food Security (CSA), of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, H.E. Ms. Fatimetou Mint Khatry ,discussed prospects for cooperation between IOFS and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on improving the current state of the strategic commodities reserve in the country. To continue the deliberations of strategic collaboration between IOFS and CSA, Dr. Ismail AbdelHamid, Advisor, Program and Project Department, is visiting Nouakchott.
Dr. Abdelhamid, in this regard, met with H.E. Fatimetou Khatry, the Commissioner for Food Security (CSA), H.E. Ousmane Mamadou KANE, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Production Sectors of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and the high committee for Food Security at CSA. The meetings highlighted the important step of further cooperation through reverse linkage and technology transfer of the well-developed silos facilities grain reservation in Jordan and Egypt. It was also noted that there will be a signing ceremony for the MoU between CSA and IOFS during the upcoming visit of the HE IOFS Director General Prof. Yerlan Baidaulet to Mauritania next week.
