PROMOTING PROSPERITY VIA AGRICULTURE
Ensuring food security is one of the most urgent issues facing the Muslim world today. According to the expert community, the Muslim population of the world will increase to 2 652.5 million people by 2050, about 29% of the total population of the globe.

The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), being a specialized food security institute, carries out activities in the following areas:

- development of Action Plans for Strategic Commodities such as wheat, rice, cassava and palm oil, with a focus on creation of stabilization funds for production of grain and other strategic goods in the value chain;
- establishment of the Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) to solve the issues of crop losses and increase the competitiveness of food and agricultural goods produced in the IOFS countries;
- establishment of the Grain Fund to provide emergency food reserves for member states.
