01 September 2022
On September 13-15, joint `Pakistan-Turkey-Kazakhstan Youth Forum on Biotechnology’ will be held with participation of academics, students and researchers from the OIC member countries. The three day event pursues the goal to increase the share of Muslim countries in the global biotechnology market.

The event will be jointly organized by the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), the Ministerial Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the OIC (COMSTECH) and Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF). Representatives of these institutions are expected to participate in the Forum.

The global biotechnology market is increasing spending and expected to reach US$ 775 billion market value by 2024, among some factors that influenced this boost are propitious initiatives by governments, global food security issues and the increasing need for emerging technologies.

The Forum named “Agriculture Biotechnology” will become an interactive platform to provide sharing of advanced knowledge and resources to young participants. Considering very moderate presence of Muslim countries in the market of biotechnology, this tripartite Pakistan-Turkey-Kazakhstan youth forum aimed at promoting agricultural biotechnology among Muslim countries through attracting young professionals of this field.
