An article by https://360mozambique.com/ discussed about growth of the value of exports of agricultural products by US$127 million (€125 million) in the first half of this year in Mozambique, according to the spokesperson for the Mozambican Council of Ministers, Filimão Suaze.

This growth in the volume of agricultural exports ensued by strategies adopted under the Sustenta programme aimed at the strengthening the capacity of small farmers. Pulses, nuts and oilseeds identified as priorities in within the Sustenta framework featured an important increase in the volume of exports in the first six months of the year.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mozambique connects these achievements with the direct impact of price of the basic staple commodities such as rice, corn and corn flour, while expecting “a stability trend” to be upheld.

The ‘Sustenta’ programme mainly focuses on the strengthening the capacity of small-holder farmers to boost industrialisation.
