On July 5, 2022 Islamic Organization for Food Security delegation participated in the 7th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Meeting of Agriculture Ministers in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. 7th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture aimed at exploring mutual trade of food products, step up cooperation in cattle breeding and pedigreed seeds supply, strengthen trade ties by removing barriers, and create green corridors of food products promotion among member countries.
The delegation of the IOFS headed by the Director of the Office for Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Ambassador Mr. Daulet Yemberdiev on the sidelines of the ECO event held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade and President of the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of the Islamic Republic of Iran, HE Mr. Alireza Peyman-Pak. Ambassador Mr. Daulet Yemberdiev signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the IOFS Director General H.E. Yerlan A. Baidaulet that aimed at trade facilitation in member countries through diminishing the trade barriers and costs, enhancing export diversification, foreign investment, and improving national competitiveness of countries.
Parties furthermore discussed visions of concrete steps in facilitating the legal framework of the document to provide its timely and effective implementation and to boost mutual cooperation.
