Nilratan Halder in the review for “The Financial Express” summarizes the sixth edition of the three-day National Vegetables Fair in Bangladesh that encompassed a descriptive slogan “Safe cultivation of vegetables, health nutrition round the year”. The country despite small geographical area increased vegetable growing capacity seven times more comparing to 12 years ago indicators.

Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaq during a keynote address in the opening of the vegetable fair highlighted about importance of transitioning from food security to its next level of food safety that induces implementing safe food preparation, storage and handling stages to curb risks to consumers. The Minister emphasized nutritious vitality of vegetables and fruits along with production of grains or cereals, hence diversification of crops through adopting agricultural policy to boost cultivation of vegetables and fruits is crucial.
