IOFS renewed calls for rebuilding a better INTRA-OIC food security system

On May 3, 2022 Islamic Organization for Food Security held a celebration ceremony of the Eid al Fitr al Mubarak.
An event brought together Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan HE Mr. Yerbol Sh.Karashukeev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and member of the IOFS Executive Board HE Mr. Zhenis Oserbay, Ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan HE Mr Yerzhan Mukash and member of the Majlis of the Parliament Mr.Baurzhan Sartbayev.

Also the meeting was attended by Ambassadors of OIC member states accredited in Kazakhstan, in particular Ambassadors of Iran HE Mr. Majid Samadzadeh Saber, Turkmenistan HE Batyr Rejepov, Malaysia HE Mr. Syed Mohamad Bakri Syed Abd Rahman, Tajikistan HE Khayrullo Ibodzoda, Kyrgyz Republic HE Dastan Dyushekeev, Palestine HE Mr. Montasyr Abuzeid, as well as representatives of Afghanistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Libya and Indonesia embassies.  IOFS national and international partners from Asian Development Bank, World Bank, International Turkic Academy, UNICEF and CICA have participated too. 
The event was inaugurated with keynote speech from Minister of Agriculture who extended congratulations on the occasion of holy Ramadan and noted that Kazakhstan as one of the active OIC members with vast agricultural potential is keen to make a feasible contribution to solving food security issues in the OIC area through close coordination with IOFS and supporting its strategic programmes.


IOFS Director General HE Yerlan Baidaulet after congratulation on the occasion of the festive Eid Al-Fitr delivered an informative and resourceful presentation which provided an overarching overview of the key IOFS Strategic Framework and IOFS Strategy 2031 with particular attention given to the humanitarian programs in Afghanistan Food Security Programme and 2022 Year of Africa initiative. Highlights of speech concerned to IOFS recent humanitarian visit to Kabul, Afghanistan and delivering of water cleaning Oasis Boxes to Afghan people within the OIC AFSP mandate to IOFS. Overview of the key value proposition of IFPA as a platform aiming to embody the G2G mandate of IOFS into the B2B reality was emphasized to call participants of the event to identify areas of opportunity and growth partnership in the agri food sector through trade exports and investments to diversify the portfolio of assets suitable for intra-OIC region.
