On 08 May 2022 under instructions of HE Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Safwan Alsaaideh, was received by Director General of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences (IAS), HE Dr.Abdullah Al-Musa at the headquarters in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The first of its kind, the visit was to initiate joint consultations on potential areas of cooperation, taking into account that science and technology is one of the main pillars to ensure food security in OIC geography and beyond. In this regard IOFS and IAS are going to implement key decisions of the 2nd OIC STI Agenda 2026 Steering Committee held on 24 March 2022 in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the two Institutions exchanged details of their main work and strategic frameworks in the field of food security and agriculture. The two sides agreed to work closely to implement several programs, particularly Water Management in Agriculture, and Bio & AgriTech Development.
