IOFS speaks at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The parliamentary research commission of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey discussed agricultural and infrastructure projects with representatives of international organizations on October 24, 2019.
The main topics of discussion were protection & maintanance of biodiversity and production and marketing of medicinal and aromatic plants.
Mrs. Rufiya Ospanova, Country and Program Manager (on Asia and Africa) presented the activities of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) from the very start of activities of the IOFS to the current projects and state-of-affairs in the Organisation. She pointed out some of the causes of food insecurity and stressed the need for cooperative efforts.
“The key message that I would like to bring to your attention, dear members of Parliament, is that food insecurity is real and we need to work together to fix things,” she underlined in her speech.
Food security, and the issue of biodiversity, accessibility, and international cooperation within the topics of discussion are things that need to be addressed at the highest level as was noted.
Representatives of traditional and  complementary medicine, university professors, UNIDO, FAO were presented at the parliamentary assembly.
