IOFS participates in the OIC Experts Group Meeting in Jeddah

The Intergovernmental Expert Group Meeting on the Mid-term Review Document of the OIC-2025: Programme of Action titled “Road to 2025: Gains Challenges and Opportunities” began its work on December 27, 2021, at OIC Headquarters in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
The OIC-2025: Programme of Action for the Decade 2016-2025, which was adopted at the 13th Session of Islamic Summit Conference in April 2016, includes relevant priority areas as the corrective vision for the implementation by the OIC institutions and other stakeholders.
 
This meeting aimed to review the progress toward implementing various objectives outlined in the Programme of Action by highlighting key issues of concern, capitalizing the efforts made and significant achievements, as well as planning further activities.
 
The representatives of permanent missions of OIC member countries shared their feedback, which would help the OIC General Secretariat and its institutions to address the challenges and better coordinate the joint activities with member countries for achieving the expected results.
 
In the framework of the event, the IOFS delegation led by the Director General H.E. Yerlan A. Baidaulet also had the working meeting with the OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs H.E. Dr. Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo and his managerial team, where the sides discussed the cooperation aspects, particularly, the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and the necessity of close coordination of efforts among OIC General Secretariat and OIC organs and institutions, as well as ways of the OIC SG support to the IOFS Afghanistan Food Security Programme.
In addition, the IOFS Director General had several other working meetings, including with Chief Executive Officer of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) Mr. Oussama Kaissi, as well as with colleagues from OIC HQ in Humanitarian, Political and Economic departments and other sister organizations.
