IOFS STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH UNICEF

On 7th December 2021, IOFS and UNICEF had an official meeting at the IOFS’s Headquarters. The meeting's agenda encompassed a wide range of issues related to cooperation and joint activities in food security projects.

          IOFS Director General H.E. Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet and its team welcomed Mr. Artur van Diesen, UNICEF Representative in Kazakhstan, Mr. Pierre Charles, Senior Advisor for Partnership and Fundraising, Mr. Artashes Mirzoyan, Regional Advisor, Europe, and Central Asia regional office and expressed appreciation for a visit and for the commendable effort the organization has made towards protecting and promoting the rights and well-being of children worldwide.

          The parties are committed to strengthening their partnership and deepening a strategic dialogue in seeking feasible solutions to promote safe, sustainable, and healthy food system projects based on pragmatic, data-driven commitments on the regional and international level. To respond to child-related sustainable nutrition goals the importance of the Global Muslim Philanthropy Fund for Children (GMPFC) is highlighted. The Fund jointly established by the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) and the UNICEF is intra-OIC contributions and partnerships platform aimed to support the most vulnerable children of member countries.

          The UNICEF team extended heartfelt appreciation for outstanding hospitality and assured their willingness to cooperate with IOFS to implement targeted projects in the food security sphere.
