Vice Minister of Agriculture of Republic of Kazakhstan Gulmira Issayeva announced approval of Roadmaps on halal and organic products by the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 3, 2019.
The Roadmap on development of halal products involves 43 measures in 7 areas, while the Roadmap on organic products has 55 measures in 8 areas.
Each Roadmap has a deadline for every measure and involves all relevant government agencies and organizations.
Issayeva reminds that Prime Minister Mr. Askar Mamin assigned the development of a Roadmap on halal production to the Ministry of Agriculture on July 30, 2019. During governmental meeting, Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Saparkhan Omarov explained, “Kazakhstan initiated establishment of Islamic Organization for Food Security and aimed to increase food supply to Muslim countries. Without an action plan for development of halal industry in the country, it is impossible to increase food exports to priority countries of the Persian Gulf and Iran.” Currently, the development of Roadmaps is being completed.
