IOFS discussed its recent activities with representatives of the UAE Embassy

On October 22 in IOFS headquarters, representatives of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) led by Director-General Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet held a meeting with the Charge d'Affaires of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Kazakhstan Mr. Ammar Albreiki and Third Secretary Ms. Meera Alazizi.

Director-General started the discussion and briefly presented all IOFS programs. In addition, Director-General noted that UAE, as an esteemed Member State, is actively involved with the strategic activities of IOFS, and Essa Al Hashemi is a representative member of the Executive Board and Head of Food Security Council. It's important to note that parties also discussed the forthcoming online Sixth Executive Board to be held on October 28 and the Third General Assembly scheduled for December 2-3.

Furthermore, Sheikh Bilal Khan, Head of Project Office of IOFS, presents the Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) as a B2B arm of IOFS which is planning to deal with private entities of OIC Member States. IFPA will be a transcontinental association of investors and entrepreneurs, consisting of large agricultural producers, food processors and professional unions of the IOFS Member States, which will jointly strengthen international trade and economic cooperation, solve common agro-technological issues, such as reducing production costs, introducing advanced technologies and materials, reduction of significant post-harvest losses, development of value-added chain, etc.

The Charge d'Affaires Mr. Ammar Albreiki showed great interest in the IOFS activities. Moreover, he assured that the UAE would continue to support all the on-going programs of IOFS. 
At the end of the meeting, Director-General expressed his gratitude to the UAE for hosting the international ‘Workshop on Development of National Gene Banks’ and for paying the mandatory contributions. Sides agreed to continue joint consultations and collaborate closely for the development of food security in the OIC region.
