IOFS representatives discussed the current status of their projects with the Vice - Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan

On November 17th, a meeting was held between Vice Minister Mr. Nurbek Dairbekov and IOFS headship at the Ministry of Agriculture in Nur-Sultan. The main goal of the meeting was to revise the arrangement of IOFS events. Director-General of IOFS informed the Vice Minister about preparations for the General Assembly scheduled for June 2020 in Istanbul. In addition, he provided a brief report on the creation of the international Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA). It was noted that participation in IFPA would allow Kazakhstani enterprises to establish direct business contacts with large enterprises, investors, and potential trading partners from OIC countries.

On February 12, 2020, an expert meeting was held at the IOFS headquarters to discuss the development of the halal industry in Kazakhstan with the help of government agencies. The meeting participants noted the vital importance of regulation of halal-standardized systems in Kazakhstan, including certification, accreditation, and subsequent compliance verification.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed that the Ministry of Agriculture would provide comprehensive support for all programs and initiatives of IOFS. The parties would also work together to unify and promote halal standards, taking into account the best practices of OIC.
