The Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security attended the meeting of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on 4 November 2022 with Heads of Foreign Diplomatic Missions. Welcoming the participants, the Head of State called meetings with the diplomatic corps a good tradition aimed at strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The President told the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Kazakhstan about the implementation of large-scale reforms in various areas. In his speech, the President dwelled on the contribution of Kazakhstan to ensuring regional and global food security. He also spoke about the prospects for trade and economic cooperation and noted that the country has significant potential in the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, energy, and green finance.

«We are among the top 10 largest exporters of grain crops, annually supplying more than 5 million tons of wheat and 1.5 million tons of flour. Kazakhstan is one of the largest producers of flax seeds and exporters of oilseeds. At the same time, we are concerned about the persistently high level of food imports from abroad, which leads to high inflation. Experts rightly admit that inflation in Kazakhstan is of foreign origin,» the Head of State emphasized.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that, today, Kazakhstan and the region demonstrate openness and readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation with all interested states and organizations
The Head of State also confirmed his interest in continuing cooperation with various international and regional organizations.
