AgriteQ conference to present 60 research papers on food security

The Associated Scientific Conference of 10th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) 2023 will begin today at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). Dr. Muhammad Saif Al Kuwari, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, said 60 research papers will be tabled during the five-day event, including three dedicated research papers on the impact of the environment and climate change on food security.

The conference will be held from March 15 to 19 in two shifts from 11am to 1:30pm and 5pm to 8pm. The first day of the conference will discuss initiatives, opportunities and projects in the agricultural sector around the world, with speakers from El Salvador, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Iran and Kazakhstan sharing their experiences and expertise.

The second day will focus on the contribution of local plants to ensure food security in Qatar, the third day on the home garden and the Gharsa initiative, and the fourth day on the National Strategy for Food Security 2023-2030. The fifth and final day on Sunday will focus on agricultural techniques and services, and the importance of artificial insemination in genetic improvement in sheep and innovation to address climate change and environmental preservation.
